It was lovely to present an Asda Foundation Spaces and Places grant for £12,500 to St Mary’s Church which will go towards much-needed renovation work.
The church, which is a Grade I listed building, will use the money towards the cost of renovating the flooring and getting wheels for the church pews so they can be moved to make space for community events and local groups can use the church as community space. The Foundation's Spaces and Place grants, which range from £5,000 to £25,000, go towards transforming community spaces to bring people together and combat social isolation.
