I was absolutely delighted to hand over this donation of premature baby vests as well as sleep suits and vests to the Friends of the Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.
During the pandemic, visits to the unit have been severely restricted, meaning that having a supply of extra clothes on the unit is one less thing for new parents to have to worry about at such a difficult time. I know first hand just how hard the staff on the unit work to look after babies born too sick or too soon as my daughter was in the unit when she was born almost 12 years ago. And I also understand the need for the unit to not have just premature baby clothes – seeing my daughter in a newborn sleep suit was somewhat comical!
