Lets' celebrate and recognise the vital contribution made by our local carers and thank them for all they do all the time and especially during the Coronavirus pandemic. Carers Week Campaign is brought to life by thousands who come together to draw attention and recognise just how important caring is.
Our local Dixon Hall received a hamper to say Thank You for Caring. During the current pandemic the Dixon Community has been unable to offer their normal support service and have implemented changes so that their staff can work from home contacting all carers, service users and their families - Home but not alone. A Triage system was set up detailing daily, weekly or fortnightly telephone calls. This is working well and carers and service users are appreciative of the emotional support provided.
Caring For Carers are a group set up to support Health and Social Care staff working within the NHS who provide snack boxes full of things such as meals to be made on the ward (tins of soup etc) drinks, snacks, sweet treats, toiletries, tea, coffee and more! that can be distributed to the wards at The New Victoria Hospital. Using their network of Lead Nursers they would cover all the wards as many times as possible in the hospital.
There are so many Carers who do so many amazing things we Thank Them for their compassion and strength. Thank You all YOU ARE OUR HEROES.
