Healthy Holidays grant

By Liz Cotterill (Asda Warrington)
August 25, 2020

We were delighted to hand over a Healthy Holidays grant to The Church of Transfiguration at Birchwood which runs The Table at Oakwood.

The church has been putting on a virtual holiday club with activity packs and packed lunches delivered to children across Birchwood area. Our three Warrington stores – Warrington, Birchwood and Westbrook – worked together to fund the project with an Asda Foundation grant and £500 worth of food donations. The Rev Rebecca, from the church, said: "Our Bags of Joy virtual holiday club has been brilliantly supported by Birchwood Town Council and the amazing team at Asda. Thanks everyone!" Helen, from The Table at Oakwood, said: "We really appreciate your support and it's made a massive difference this summer to be able to deliver crafts and lunch for 50 children each week!" Warrington store manager Mick said: "It's wonderful how stores are able to support groups with the backing of the Asda Foundation. The three Warrington stores have worked hard together to help this project and many others especially during this pandemic."
