Baby Loss Awareness Week

By Jacqui Benham (Asda Waterlooville)
October 14, 2020

Baby Loss Awareness Week a special opportunity to mark the lives of babies lost at pregnancy or or soon after birth.

Stephanie is the bereavement midwife at Queen Alexandra Hospital and makes up dignity packs for women who are sadly suffering an early pregnancy loss at the hospital. She also makes up rainbow bags for expectant mothers who have suffered a previous stillbirth or neonatal death. After every storm comes a rainbow so this is symbolic in a subsequent pregnancy following a loss.  It was an honour to be able to provide a variety of items for both the packs that Stephanie makes up and I hope that in some small way they bring some dignity and comfort to the women Stephanie helps.
