Christmas surprise for the charity that makes wishes come true
The HoneyRose Foundation is a charity that makes wishes come true for adults with terminal illnesses – so our St Helens store's community champion Gaynor Winstanley nominated them for a special Christmas treat of their own.
She put them forward to be one of the dozens of worthy community groups, charities and good causes across the country to receive a surprise Christmas grant from the Asda Foundation. After helping out at their Christmas party, Gaynor presented the charity's founder and chief executive Lynn Duffy MBE with a cheque for £6,000 so they can support more people.
Gaynor said: "Lynn had no idea she was receiving the cheque and told me the money would now able her charity to get another 12 terminally ill service users final wishes come true in the run up to Christmas."
