Look how smart Romford Colts under 14 football team look in their new kits – paid for thanks to an Asda Foundation grant.

Our Romford store's community champion Liz Brown presented the team with a £1,550.50 cheque for the kits, new jackets, footballs and goal nets.

Jo Sheppard's son Charlie plays for the team, and she said: "We were desperately looking for sponsors to get them a proper kit, and Liz has been amazing.

"She helped me complete the forms and took a real interest. She's presented them with the kit and stayed to watch matches. She couldn't have done any more, and the money has made a massive difference.

"When one of the boys put the new kit on for the first time he said, 'I feel like I'm a football pro!', which was lovely."

Liz said: "I first met the team last year when they were given a first grant for £800, and it was great to return to present them with their second grant. They were delighted.

"It was so nice to see them all again. I can't believe how much they have all grown, they are now taller then me! I'm looking forward to watching a few of their matches soon."
