Look out for vegan labels on our Nspa range making shopping for beauty products easier

Nicola Scott product developer on our health and beauty team blogs about the vegan-friendly additions to our Nspa range...

We first launched the Nspa range in 2004 and have always been committed to offering our customers the best quality products we can in the most ethical way we can.

Nspa are opposed to animal testing – none of the products or raw materials have been tested on animals – and the whole range is suitable for vegetarians. We've also got lots of products in the range which are suitable for vegans.

As veganism has grown so much over the last few years we saw the importance of it for our customers, so we're making it easier to find all of the products that are suitable for vegans in the range.

We work collaboratively with our partners at Nspa, communicating on a daily basis about all of the ranges. It was a mutual decision to look into making these products vegan. Going forwards with new products we’re trying to avoid non-vegan ingredients where we can and make sure the products are clearly labelled to make shopping easier.

When we’re deciding new products we work together and look at everything in great detail with them. We decide everything together – because the range is exclusively available at Asda so we need to ensure it's meeting our customers' expectations and brand guidelines.

When you're shopping in store you'll find that all the products in the range that are suitable for vegans are clearly labelled with Nspa's leaf stamp, either on the front or back of the packaging:

It was really important for us and Nspa to offer these vegan products. We wanted to make products that would meet customers' needs and we’ve seen a rise in the number of people wanting to shop vegan as much as possible. It’s about making sure our customers have that choice available and they don't have to go without.

There are six different ranges to choose from – Fruit Extracts, Expert, Beauty Rituals, Sacred Spa, Pure and Mum to Be – and each range includes vegan-friendly products.

Our Fruit Extracts range offers fabulously fruity vegan options in bath and shower gel, body mist and jelly scrubs – with real fruit extracts and vitamins A, E and B5. Choose from delicious scents like coconut, raspberry, cherry, mango and pineapple to treat your skin and leave it delicately fragranced, nourished and squeaky clean.

If you're looking to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles be sure to give our Expert range a go – fortified with Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract, which is clinically proven to help reduce the appearance of ageing skin for a smoother complexion.

I personally love the Nightly Revitalising Retinol Capsules – they’re rose gold and created using 100% plant-based materials so they're vegan-friendly and they're an absolute bargain at just £10! They're fantastic for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and firming the skin – just break the capsule open and apply to the neck face.

We're really proud that we can offer that high level of anti-ageing formulation that's vegan friendly and it actually works. Plus Nspa offer your money back after four weeks if you don’t feel like you’ve got younger looking skin.

We've had lots of really positive feedback on the Nspa vegan range and because of that we’re launching some really exciting lines in March this year that are going to be suitable for vegans – so watch this space!

Our Nspa range is available instore and online now. There's a list of all the vegan-friendly products in the range here.
