Colleagues from our Boston store handed over the keys to a new van paid for with a £27,000 donation from the Asda Foundation to local homeless charity Centrepoint Outreach.
The van will help the charity deliver furniture and household goods to people in the area who are rebuilding their lives in new accommodation.
The charity's CEO Liz Hopkins said: "All of us at Centrepoint Outreach are so grateful to Asda Foundation for the fantastic donation of £27,612 which enabled us to replace our ageing delivery van.
“The furniture and household goods delivered by the van will make a real difference to the recipients as they start to rebuild their lives, often after a period of homelessness."
Our Boston store's community champion Stephen Bromby regularly volunteers with the team and handed over the keys.
He said: "Centrepoint Outreach do a fantastic job in the local community and I was honoured and delighted to present them with the van.
"It’s important they can carry on doing the work they do, and I know they’ll put the van to good use, helping to transform an empty shell into a home.
“Supporting smaller, local applications such as Centrepoint Outreach is really important to us – and we hope it will make a real difference within the local community in Boston.”
Stephen also helped the charity secure a £600 grant last December, for a Christmas celebration for service users at their drop-in centre.
