Colleagues at our stores are getting behind England and Scotland ahead of their match in the Women’s World Cup this weekend.
Eight of the England squad play for Manchester City, whose ground is next to the Eastlands store. To show their support, colleagues made pizzas in the shape of the St George’s cross, as well as hanging up bunting and balloons.
Ruth Doran, the store’s people trading manager, said: “We just want to do our bit to celebrate and support our team in the World Cup, especially as we have eight players from Manchester City in the team.
“There are a lot of red and white balloons and flags across the store and all the counters are decorated. We just hope the girls go all the way and bring home the cup."
With Scotland and England playing each other in their opening fixture on Sunday, colleagues at our Govan store including Angela Lowrie, Brian Pepper and Wilma McHardie in the picture above are showing their support for Scotland.
Store manager Michelle Anderson said: “There are blue and white balloons across the store and colleagues have been wearing Scotland flags. We are all doing our bit to support the team. We all hope they do well."
