Michelle says thanks to the volunteers who do so much to help others

Our Gosforth store's community champion Michelle Castledine regularly volunteers with the Make Lunch charity – helping providing free hot meals to people who may otherwise miss out.

As part of Volunteers' Week, Michelle wanted to say thank you to the team from the Methodist Church on Westgate Road for all they do.

She said: "They provide free meals to families and this week it was children's club with lots of activities and games and a lovely healthy lunch and dessert – all at no cost to the families.

"They're such a lovely friendly group and the volunteers are amazing, making a huge difference to people's lives.

"We have lots more visits planned and are getting the children gardening next time. Our store donated some refreshments to keep the coffee mornings going and we have a lot more planned throughout the year."
