Why everyone at Asda Fulwood is backing Adele to be crowned Queen of the Jungle

November 19, 2019 12:36 PM

Everyone at our Fulwood store is backing Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts in ITV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Adele's sister Lesley, who's pictured here third right, back row, is based at the store – though her job means she's a regular visitor to all our stores across Lancashire.

Lesley says she's really proud to see Adele on the show.

She said: "It's so nice to see her on the TV. Everyone here is supporting Adele – all 18 of our stores in Lancashire are getting behind her!

"I think she'll do really well. Once everyone gets to know her they'll find out that she's really nice, very funny – hilarious – with a heart of gold. I'm so very, very proud of her. She's such an amazing person.

"Adele is however petrified of spiders. She always has been since she was a child, but she is very strong and won't let that or anything else faze her. She is determined to do her best.

"On last night's show there were spiders in a box and she seemed to cope with them okay.

"I last spoke to her last week when she touched down in Brisbane and she was really looking forward to going into the jungle. She was very excited."

Lesley, who with Adele was brought up in Southport, thought her sister would team up with former Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, whom she already knows, and ex-Arsenal and England footballer Ian Wright who was her "idol" when she was growing up.

Lesley she first found out about her sister going on the show about two weeks ago. She said: "I was really shocked when she told me. I couldn't believe it, but It's so nice to see her on the TV."

Our Fulwood store's people manager Lisa Fullalove said: "Everyone here will be avidly watching I'm A Celebrity and supporting Adele. We hope she'll win it!"
