Dundonald checkout colleagues David and Joyce are singing sensations
When colleagues David Cox and Joyce Edgar aren't working on the checkouts at our Dundonald store they're putting their heart and soul into singing with the fabulous Belfast Community Gospel Choir.
After the turmoil and uncertainty over the last few years due to the pandemic, the choir reunited recently to showcase their talents in the Ulster Hall, Belfast, for a performance of Joy! Joy! Joy!
David, who's worked at the store for 22 years, said: “It was fantastic performing at the Ulster Hall with the rest of the BCGC and my colleague Joyce. We are all so glad to be back together after the pandemic. It was our best performance yet and I’ve been involved for eight years.
“The Ulster Hall is a fantastic venue and the energy amongst the choir was electric! My colleagues at Asda Dundonald have been extremely supportive throughout the years and always wish me the best of luck.’’
Joyce added: “It was a joy to perform at the Ulster Hall alongside my friends in the Belfast Community Gospel Choir, the community spirit amongst the cast is fantastic. Thank you to my colleagues for the well wishes, their ongoing support is fantastic.’’
Marie Lacey, founder and director of the choir, Marie Lacey, said: “It’s fantastic to have members like David and Joyce as part of the BCGC, they are valued members, and we were delighted to perform at the Ulster Hall.
‘’We are all passionate about gospel and soul music and have worked hard throughout the years to deliver enjoyable, successful productions. Well done David and Joyce, I’m sure your colleagues at Asda Dundonald are very proud.’’
Store manager Stacy McMullan said: “Everyone at Asda Dundonald would like to congratulate David and Joyce on their recent performance at the Ulster Hall with the Belfast Community Gospel Choir, what an achievement! They represent Asda well, and we look forward to hearing about their future success.”
