Michael Gleeson

Michael joined in May 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, having previously held a similar role at Morrisons. He joined Morrisons in 2014 initially as Group Financial Controller and then as Supermarkets Finance Director. In 2017 he became Trading Director for Ambient, Frozen, Dairy, Fuel and Services before being appointed CFO in December 2019. Prior to joining Morrisons, Michael worked for Tesco in a number of senior finance roles including Group Financial Planning and Analysis Director and CFO of Tesco.com. He is a chartered accountant having qualified with Arthur Andersen in Dublin.

Michael was born in Ireland, spent his childhood in Tipperary and then went to University College Dublin where he gained a Masters in Management Science. He is married to Orla and they have two children, a son Cathal and a daughter Róisín. The family now lives in York and together they enjoy their family holidays, particularly in the US. Michael is a big sports fan. He plays golf, and also follows Liverpool FC.
