Asda Strabane’s ‘Born on Asda Day Baby’ says thank you to Mum!
To celebrate the opening of the Asda Strabane store ten years ago, the retailer crowned Ursula White’s daughter Darcey the ‘Born on Asda day baby’ for the town. A decade on and Asda Strabane is helping its ‘Asda baby’ say a big thank you to her mum ahead of Mother’s Day.
Darcey Moore, who attends St Catherine’s Primary School in Strabane, presented her mum with flowers and chocolates with help from Asda Strabane colleague Darrell Law. The 10 year old, who loves drama and writing poetry, said simply, “I really love my mummy.”
Strabane resident Ursula recalls the day she was blessed with her beautiful daughter, “I remember it like it was yesterday,” commented Ursula, “I was so surprised when I heard the news that Asda was giving us a range of George baby clothes and a year’s supply of nappies and wipes to help us celebrate bringing Darcey into the world.”
“Ten years on it is really lovely to get this special surprise from Darcey and Asda for Mother’s Day - I’m very lucky!”
Asda Strabane colleague Darrell Law added, “My colleagues and I always enjoy seeing Ursula and Darcey in store. We love seeing how our ‘Asda baby’ is getting on and we’re delighted to help Darcey say a special thank you to her ‘super mum’ today. We have a great range of gift ideas available in store and online for those who want to follow Darcey’s lead this Mother’s Day.”
