Pomeroy Pupils celebrate World Book Day with Asda Cookstown

To celebrate the 19th annual World Book Day (3rd March), Asda Cookstown’s Community LifeChampion, Kerrie Murray, visited Pomeroy Preschool Playgroup to host a special story-telling session.

Kerrie got into the spirit of things and donned a Mary Poppins costume before reading tothe pupils from one of World Book Day’s top ten books - ‘Supertato: Hap-Pea Ever After’ bySue Hendra and Paul Linnet.

Kerrie Murray, Community Life Champion at Asda Cookstown, said, “We work closely with all of the schools in the local area and we were delighted to join thechildren at Pomeroy Preschool Playgroup. World Book Day is a fantastic celebration ofreading and I was thrilled to be able to play a role in helping to bring the books to life for thechildren. Hopefully this will help encourage them, and their parents, to enjoy sharing a goodbook together in the future.”
