Penderyn Distillery has launched a special miniature collection of its award-winning spirits, just in time for father’s day.

  • Welsh whisky distillery, Penderyn, launches a gift pack of world-class spirits in time for father’s day
  • Asda continues to support local Welsh suppliers and their new product launches
  • Customers can taste Penderyn’s products as well as the very best of Welsh produce at Asda Brynmawr on 17 June

Following the success of their full-sized bottles in Asda stores, the premium distillery has created a gift set of their top whisky, gin, vodka and whisky liqueur in 5cl sizes, available to buy in Asda stores across Wales.

The new offering will include Penderyn Whisky Madeira Cask, Five Vodka, Brecon Gin and Merlyn Welsh Cream Liqueur. The full set is available for £14.00 at over 25 Asda stores.

Asda strives to stock local produce and this latest offering provides Welsh shoppers with the opportunity to sample the range of Penderyn’s home-grown premium spirits.

The distillery, located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, launched on St David’s Day in 2004 and has supplied Asda stores in Wales since 2002. Today, over 38,392 bottles are purchased by Asda each year.

Penderyn’s products are produced using the purest water passed over Welsh limestone from its onsite spring and boasts a unique distilling process for its malt whisky, using an exclusive Faraday Still.

Whereas traditional Scotch and Irish Whiskies are double or triple distilled, Penderyn use a single distillation process to remove more chemical compounds, resulting in a soft, smooth and refined spirit in both its Madeira Cask whisky and Merlyn Welsh Cream Liqueur.

As well as the new miniature selection, the full-sized bottles of Penderyn spirits will be on offer in Asda stores for father’s day.

· Penderyn Legend and Celt Single Malt Whisky £25 rollback from £31.99
· Brecon Gin £14 rollback from £17.50
· Brecon Five Vodka £18 rollback from £21
· Merlyn Welsh Cream Liqueur £10 rollback from £14

Matt Trigg, Asda’s local sourcing and events manager for Wales, said: “We work closely with our local suppliers across the country, and listen to customer feedback, to ensure that our shelves are always stocked with the most innovative produce available that are that little bit extra special.

“Penderyn whiskies have been very popular in our stores and we are delighted to offer this unique selection just in time for father’s day.”

Stephen Davies, Managing Director at Penderyn Distillery said: “Our range of whiskies has proved a major success across Asda stores in Wales and we look forward to hearing customers’ feedback on our new gift set.

“A special thank you must go to Matt and Asda, whose commitment to providing local suppliers with opportunities and the tools to grow contributes to the success of our business.”

Customers will be able to taste Penderyn’s products, along other local Welsh produce and see Asda’s new look Brynmawr store on Friday June 17.
