Asda will be opening a brand new superstore in Clacton-on-Sea later this year. The £21m 35,000 square foot store will create over 200 jobs for local residents, in a mixture of full and part time roles across all of its departments.

Applicants are now being invited to apply for jobs at the new store and those interested should visit www.asda.jobsfor more information.

The store which is set to open early October, will incorporate a delicious selection of products from its fresh fish, pizza and bakery counters as well as sizzling offers at the store’s rotisserie.

In addition to the food areas, the famous George clothing and home brand will have a selection of seasonal ranges that are perfect for all ages.

Customers who fancy a bite to eat will be able to pop into the brand new Express Diner, where meals start from just £1 – including delicious jacket potatoes and hot large pizzas from just £1.

Asda Clacton-on-Sea will also offer a click and collect service for hassle free shopping, order online your selected pick up date and time, then you go to the collection point in the car park to have you shopping put straight into the boot.

Asda is renowned for having the lowest fuel prices in town. Our rivals love charging as much as they can get away with - and that normally means towns without an Asda nearby pay more for their fuel. From October drivers can expect to pay less for their fuel with the inclusion of a petrol forecourt, which will open earlier that than the store in late August.

General store manager, Dean Bradbrook, said: “We’re so excited to be opening Asda Clacton-on-Sea later this year and it’s fantastic that we’re able to offer 200 jobs to members of the local community with a variety of positions.”

“Customers can look forward to a wide range of products from George Clothing to Groceries and not forgetting lower fuel prices.”

“The team and I are looking forward to getting to becoming part of the local community, especially our community life champion, Kerry, who will be working alongside the town’s groups and projects to help support them whenever possible.”

Asda Clacton on Sea will open from 7am-11pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
