The Yorkshire Meatball Company secures listing deal with Asda

A local Harrogate father and son are celebrating the launch of their business’ first retail product line which is set to appear on the shelves at 36 Asda stores across the country.

Since March 2014, David and Gareth Atkinson, the father and son duo behind specialty meatball concept, The Yorkshire Meatball Co. have been on a mission to make their meatballs the tastiest in the county through their Harrogate-based Meatball and Craft Beer Bar.

Two and a half years on, they are now bringing their meatballs to the rest of the nation through the launch of their high quality, premium-branded meatballs which are now on sale in select Asda stores across the North.

The complete range consists of three eat-at-home meatball packs, all of which are a whole 20g larger than other standard retail meatball ranges.

All meatballs are made with beef and pork and flavoured with different seasonings. Yorkshire Balls, their classic variety, now on sale in Asda, are roundly seasoned with shallot, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper.

The Atkinson duo state: “After two great years’ operating our Meatball and Craft Beer Bar in Harrogate, we felt it was the right time to introduce our flavoursome, hearty meatballs to Asda shoppers across the county.

“Each Ball is rolled in Yorkshire using only the freshest and tastiest Beef and Pork which is locally-sourced and is gluten, egg and dairy free.

“We have a fantastic relationship with Asda; its commitment to providing local suppliers with opportunities and the tools to grow is one of the reasons we decided to launch our first retail products with them, plus of course they champion Yorkshire too!”
