The Champagne Cornwall Chorus, a four part, ladies harmony group have put an an added touch of sparkle to their performance with the help of George at Asda.

The 31 strong group, established in 1985, were looking to give themselves a new look ahead of the festive season and decided that the Gold Sequin Blazer from George would be the perfect attire for a Christmas chorus.

When George heard that the group had been struggling to find stock of the much sought after jacket, the fashion brand decided to source the glitzy gold blazers for the group and gift them for free as a thank you for the tireless work the group has done to raise thousands of pounds over the years for both national and local charities.

The Champagne Ladies, in return, decided to showcase their new, stylish attire with a special performance at the Asda Bodmin store this week.

Singing a range of songs in the 30 minute performance, including The Crystals’ ‘Da Do Run Run’ and ‘Lollipop’ by The Chordettes, the ladies put on a stunning show for the local shoppers.

Dan Pole, from George at Asda, said: "When we heard that the chorus were looking for the gold sequin blazer, we knew we had to help out.

"The ladies all look fantastic in their gold sequin blazers and they certainly put on a glitzy and glamourous show for the local shoppers in Bodmin. We hope that we have given their upcoming Christmas performances that added bit of festive sparkle."

Gill Thorpe, secretary of the Champagne Cornwall Chorus, said: "When we were looking for the blazers, we didn't expect to receive such a generous gesture.

"The ladies are all overjoyed with their new look ahead of the festive season and we couldn't wait to showcase them at Asda Bodmin. It was wonderful to see the Chorus sing as they sparkled away and we cannot wait for our next performance."
