Christmas crisps pop onto shelves across Scottish stores

Christmas Popcorn

Mince Pie Popcorn and Turkey and Haggis Stuffing Crisps rollout onto Asda shelves

With Christmas just round the corner, Asda has signed a new deal with Mackie’s at Taypack Ltd to stock their new collection of festive crisps in nearly 50 Scottish stores.

Available today, customers from across Scotland can now enjoy the new Mince Pie Popcorn and Turkey and Haggis Stuffing crisp ranges on Asda shelves.

Packed with more flavour than an entire Christmas dinner, Asda customers are the first to experience the new sweet and savoury delights. The new product introduction comes off the back of a £100,000 deal, earlier this year, which saw Mackie’s first introduce its extensive and popular popcorn lines on Asda shelves.

Already renowned for their high-quality crisps, Mackie’s has experienced success since diversifying into the popcorn market with their Sweet and Salted, Scotch Bonnet Chilli Pepper, Butterscotch and Lightly Sea Salted lines.

“We’ve seen exceptional interest in Mackie’s popcorn range since launch and Mackie’s crisps have always been a favourite for customers across the country,” said Heather Turnbull, buying manager for Scotland. “Christmas is the time for families to come together and although we have lots of locally sourced Scottish products for the Christmas table on offer this year, both Mackie’s crisps and popcorn are the perfect addition to the festive fun.”

James Taylor, Commercial Director at Mackie’s Crisps, added: “We’ve seen an explosion of popularity within the popcorn market and we couldn’t have thought of a better time to unveil new additions to our family of Mackie’s products at Asda.”
Available until the end of the Christmas period and available in 49 stores, the new Mince Pie Popcorn is a unique twist on the festive favourite. With only 107 calories per serving, customers don’t need to feel any post-Christmas binge guilt by tucking into the snack.
The Turkey and Haggis flavoured crisps are now stocked in 31 Scottish stores, using the same unique cooking method and quality products as the additional 13 crisp varieties available to Asda.
