Asda Govan plays matchmaker, hoping to find single shoppers their perfect match

To mark the most romantic day of the year, an Asda supermarket in Glasgow is playing cupid to help customers find the ‘One’.

The store is hosting a ‘traffic light’ trolley party this Valentine’s Day between 10am-12noon, where shoppers can wear a numbered green, amber or red badge, depending on their relationship status. Secret admirers can then leave the badge wearer who has caught their eye a ‘love note’ on the store’s Valentine’s Day board.

Cupid-in-Chief and general store manager at Asda Govan, Mark Allan, commented: “As a bit of Valentine’s Day fun, we thought we’d play matchmaker by offering customers the chance to pick up more than just their shopping. Who knows, we might help a single shopper find their perfect match!”
