Asda Keeps Brits in High Spirits with New Colour-Changing Gin

As the nation’s love of gin and all things mystical continues to grow, Asda has announced the introduction of a new bright gin to its collection –Empress 1908 Gin – adding a touch of vigor and violet to G&Ts this autumn.

Stocked exclusively at Asda, the Empress 1908 Gin changes from a deep indigo to soft pink with the addition of tonic water, making for a kaleidoscope of colour in every glass.

Made with the magical butterfly pea flower to give a regal purple colouring, the cosmic cocktail contains flavours of juniper, rose, coriander seed, grapefruit peel, ginger root and cinnamon bark, creating a burst of spice in every sip.

Fit for royalty at only £38.50, the Empress 1908 Gin launches following its introduction in Canada and the US last year, which saw customers fall in love with the popping purple spirit. Crafted in collaboration with the iconic Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia, is perfect with a dash of tonic or citrus, which helps transform the jewel-tone tipple from Mesmerizing to mellow.

Ryan Ormrod, Asda Spirits Buyer, comments: “Gin is a much-loved British icon, and with the addition of colour-changing qualities, we know our customers will go wild for the new bottles as we help whet their appetites for quality, novelty gin.

“Empress 1908 Gin saw widespread love when launched overseas last year, so we’re excited to be the first British supermarket to offer the mystical drink at an affordable price, perfect for gifting throughout autumn.”

Empress 1908 Gin (£38.50) is available in-store and online now.
