Asda is making shopping even easier for customers by introducing Express Click & Collect and extending Same Day Delivery to fit in with busy modern lives.
Those who have ever forgotten an essential item after the big shop or needed last minute dinner ingredients will know that there are very few easy options available without compromising on value or time.
But in a first for a UK supermarket, customers will now be able to shop Asda’s full range of products online, select their items and collect them within one hour of placing an order.
A trial was launched in two stores* at the end of 2019 and with happy customers already making the most of the service, further rollout is planned in the coming months.
The trial is the latest example of ‘test and learn’ innovation from Asda and forms part of the supermarket’s strategy around innovation where customers care.
Asda has also recently extended its Same Day Delivery service, which gives shoppers even more options to get what they need quickly and conveniently – and adds to Asda’s growing home shopping division, which continued to outperform the online grocery market, according to the latest Kantar results for the 12 weeks to 29th December 2019.
The rollout is in response to customer feedback, which showed there was a greater demand than ever for a speedy same day service. This means that those last minute dinner essentials, forgotten birthday presents and urgent items can be ordered before 12pm for delivery after 3.30pm on the same day.
Same Day Delivery is available now to UK addresses seven-days-a-week** and joins the variety of other shopping options available to Asda customers, including same day Click & Collect, where they can place an order for collection after just four hours.

“When we launched the Express Click & Collect trial we expected to see people picking-up forgotten items from their weekly shop, or basics such as bread, milk, nappies and last-minute dinner ingredients. In reality, it has been used for everything from a small weekly shop to those just wanting to pick up a few essentials. As a result of the huge demand we’ve seen in response to the trial we’re working hard to roll it out further early this year.

* Express Click & Collect is currently being trialled in Asda Killingbeck and Middleton stores.
