ASDA set to unveil its 2020 Christmas advert on 2nd November
With only seven Mondays left in the calendar until Christmas, anticipation for joy-inducing Christmas adverts is building. Yet again, ASDA will be the first retailer to showcase its Christmas 2020 festive campaign: ‘ASDA Price Christmas’, due to hit screens on 2nd November.
Centred around giving customers ‘the Christmas they need, at the prices they want’, the campaign will bring Christmas cheer to TV screens across the country from 2nd November 2020.
To reflect the excitement of Christmas and hope of happiness in the year ahead, the ‘ASDA Price Christmas’ advert is set to the upbeat 1967 Christmas classic That’s What Christmas Means to Me by Stevie Wonder.
The ad will also see the return of real-life ASDA superfan Sunny and his family – who previously featured in the ASDA price re-launch and Halloween campaigns – stepping into the magic of Christmas preparations with amazing products from ASDA at low prices.
Led by Sunny, the advert follows the eager ASDA price family getting ready for Christmas, bringing to life key festive themes such as gifting and the big Christmas shop as well as the great range available across meat joints, party food, BWS deals and decorations, across both ASDA and George.
To add extra sparkle, the advert will inspire customers to make the most of the season even if they’re spending more time at home.
Viewers will see Sunny decorating the house with Christmas lights from ASDA in preparation for the big day, ending with the house lit up, much to the excitement of his children.
ASDA’s Chief Customer Officer Anna-Maree Shaw comments: “At ASDA, we know how important Christmas is for our customers, this year more than ever before. Christmas is going to be a little different for everyone, but through our ‘ASDA Price Christmas’ campaign, we want to reassure customers that everyone can have an extra special Christmas at the prices they want, which is why we’re keeping prices magically low. With great quality products at great value across food, drink & home, customers can make the most of the festivities without having to compromise.”
The new Christmas ad features hero items from ASDA’s festive range that customers can find online and in store, including the new Bruce the Brussel Sprout Cake – set to be a best seller, the Extra Special Vegan Bao Bun Selection, and a classic Turkey which plays a starring role on many Christmas Dinner tables. Decorative lights seen illuminating the house featured in the Christmas Ad are also available to buy, including the show-stopping Santa and the light-up Sloth from George that no house will be complete without.
Eilidh Macaskill, Vice President Creative and Media at ASDA, adds: “We’re so excited the festive season is finally here, and can’t wait for our advert to hit TV screens. We loved working with Sunny and his family to bring our ASDA Price Christmas to life, showcasing the magic of Christmas at prices that all customers deserve.”
The ad will launch with a special two-minute film at 8.45pm on November 2nd during a break in tonight's episode of Coronation Street.
