Asda’s General Counsel and Company Secretary named as one of UK’s top 100 lawyers

Helen Selby, General Counsel and Company Secretary at Asda has been named in The Lawyer’s ‘Hot 100 List’ for 2021, which recognises excellence across the legal sector.

Helen, who joined Asda in April 2020, has been recognised for her role in helping Asda to continue to feed the nation throughout the pandemic. Working alongside other retailers following a temporary relaxation in competition law rules, Helen worked with teams across Asda to ensure vulnerable customers had access to weekly grocery home shopping deliveries.

In addition to supporting the retailer through the pandemic, Helen has also been recognised for her ongoing role in the acquisition of Asda by the Issa brothers and TDR Capital, which was announced in October 2020 and is set to complete in the first half of 2021.
