Asda’s La Corriente Sauvignon Blanc and Cellier des Dauphins Vinsobres, each 75cl respectively, took Gold at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) with top marks of 95 out of 100, each.

The Cru Des Côtes Du Rhône Vinsobres 2020 - a Silver award winner in the International Wine Challenge awards and Bronze in International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) - costs just £8.00 (WAS £8.50). The tipple is bursting with ripe summer fruits and is rich, spicy, well-structured and full of flavour. Decanter judges stated that it has : ”Lots of crunchy red fruit on the nose framed by subtle hints of spices. Crunchy profile on the palate, with chalky tannins and a racy acidity.”

The supermarkets La Corriente Sauvignon Blanc, at £7.00 a bottle – commended by IWC and Bronze winner in the IWSC awards – has an intense smell of citrus fruit, with notes of asparagus and passionfruit and is juicy on the palate.

Official tasting notes described the wine as: "Fresh nose displaying aromas of bright pea pod and asparagus framing citrusy notes and hints of passion fruit. Tangy acidity, with a savoury character."

A further 85 bottles from Asda’s extensive wine range picked up Silver or Bronze medals in the awards, too.

Shoppers can pick up any of the supermarkets award winning bottles, including the Gold winners, in store or online at asda.com, now.
