With searches for ‘Valentine’s Day’ skyrocketing by 305% in just one week on Asda.com*, shoppers are well and truly gearing up for the big day.

Whether it’s for that special someone, ‘Galentine's’ celebrations or for a bit of self-love, customers can choose from a selection of love-themed goodies priced at £5 and under - including delicious bottles of bubbly, heart-shaped sweet treats and a beautiful selection of vibrant flowers.

Stats from 2023 reveal that low-cost indulgences such as cards, chocolates and flowers were the most sought-after gifts*. This year, there’s insight to show that there will be an even bigger increase in popularity of inexpensive gifts - such as flowers (31%), chocolate (31%) and other small presents (30%)*. Trends show that customers prefer smaller but more thoughtful gifts, with a little luxury indulgence (bite-sized chocolate coin, anyone?).

With Asda’s range of offers and products available this Valentine’s Day - it doesn't have to cost a lot to show some love.

 Something sweet!

Nothing says ‘I love you’ like the gift of chocolate, which Asda customers can pick up from as little as £1. Shoppers can choose from the Lots of Love Chocolate Coins (£1), sweet, milk chocolate treats shaped in a love heart and the Chocolate Love Heart Lollipops (£1), dark, milk and white heart shaped stick lollies decorated with red-lustred honeycomb sprinkles - perfect for popping in a card.

Customers can also indulge in Valentine’s Day Lovely Mini Cupcakes (15 pack, £6 + £1 in Asda Cash Pot), fluffy sweet chocolate sponges with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla flavour frosting. Or Billie the Love Bug Cupcakes (£1.50), two chocolate sponge cakes filled with a raspberry jam sauce and topped with chocolate flavour frosting - great additions to grazing spreads to be enjoyed with friends or for a shared dessert.

For the perfect ‘v day’ breakfast in bed, customers can treat their loved one to the limited-edition Love Heart Crumpets (£1.25) which can be toasted as desired and paired perfectly with Raspberry Jam (£1.15) for the full aesthetic – small touches but made with love!
