With Mother’s Day right around the corner, data gathered by Asda has revealed that mums don’t like seeing huge overspends on the day, and instead love the opportunity to relax, spend time with loved ones, and receive little luxuries which they may have denied themselves. 53% of shoppers plan to spend Mother’s Day at home, with 65% claiming that their way of celebrating centres around family time and comfort*. 
 
Last year, the most popular gifts for well-deserving mother figures included cards (49%), flowers (40%) and chocolates (32%), followed by items from toiletries & beauty (12%), alcohol (11%) and clothing (10%) categories, with customers saying that Asda was their top retailer of choice when it came to purchasing cards, flowers, chocolates and wines for the occasion.* 

For the special day on 10th of March this year, Asda has rounded up a selection of affordable gifts; including pretty flowers, sweet treats, lovely bubblies and pampering gift sets, proving that shoppers don't have to spend a lot to show some love.
