As the UK experiences the hottest temperatures of the year so far, Sangria is quickly becoming the latest TikTok summer drink craze – but with a twist.

‘Alternative Sangria’ recipes are flooding TikTok, with flavours like pina colada and strawberry, alcohol-free versions and ‘Sangria Floats’ being the most popular - social media users are saying that these new takes on sangria are “perfect for summer”.

Serving 8 at just £1.25 per serve, shoppers can bag everything they need to create Asda’s very own take on the trend:
Sparkling Rosé Peach Melba Sangria.  The recipe combines Asda’s Extra Special Mas Miralda Brut Rosé Cava (£7.50), a homemade peach purée, Asda Peach Slices in Fruit Juice (70p) and JUST ESSENTIALS by ASDA Raspberries (£1.75) to make this blush-coloured punch - where Bellini meets sangria.

For those who want a summer drink without having to pick up a cocktail shaker, Asda’s new Pica Pica canned wine range is ideal. With market leading prices, the range boasts eight varieties of canned wine and wine cocktails, including the
Pica Pica White Wine Spritz (£2.50), a refreshing wine cocktail with notes of lime, elderflower and mint - perfect for a zesty, white sangria. In addition, Asda's Pica Pica Rosé Wine Spritz (£2.50) is a fantastic way to top up a lighter sangria recipe, with its fragrant aromas of raspberry, strawberry and white peach.

Those keen to keep on the ‘alternative trend’ hype, can opt for Asda’s Aperol Slushy; combining
Aperol Aperitif (now £13 - from £17) with Casa Luis Cava Rosé Extra Dry (£5.75) with fresh oranges, fresh mint and blood orange soda.

No and low alcohol options continue to soar off the shelves as the weather heats up. The
Extra Special Non Alcoholic Rhubarb & Ginger Flavour Botanical Drink (£10) has seen a 32% rise in sales over the weekend after it was featured on Saturday Kitchen and recommended by Olly Smith, who said it is best paired with a splash of ginger ale to create a unique, non-alcoholic summer serve.

All of the cocktail recipes are available to view on the Asda Good Living website
here. Asda’s full range of summer drinks, including the Extra Special Non-Alcoholic Botanical Gin and Pica Pica range are available to shop in-store and online at Asda.com.
