ASDA CUSTOMERS URGED TO FIND 40 GOLDEN TICKETS HIDDEN INSIDE STORES ACROSS THE UK TO WIN A YEAR'S WORTH OF FREE FUEL
Could your next shop fuel your car for a whole year? Asda is giving 40 lucky customers the chance to free fuel worth £1500 all you have to do is find a Golden Ticket hidden amongst products in-store!
Starting from Friday 18th July and running until Monday 25th August, 40 Golden Tickets will be tucked away in between Asda branded products on shelves inside Asda’s largest stores across the UK. If you find one, you’ll be filling up for free at Asda’s petrol stations, excluding Express sites, for the next 12 months*.
Secret Asda colleagues will visit stores between now and the end of the August bank holiday weekend, secretly hiding the tickets in store and awaiting the lucky winners.
It’s all part of the supermarket’s year-long celebrations to mark its landmark 60th birthday. From Kids Eat for 60p at Asda Cafés to exclusive Asda Rewards giveaways and even a limited-edition birthday beer, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
This exciting giveaway follows Asda’s recent 60p per litre fuel flashback event in Halifax on the 16th July —where the first 60 drivers to visit the site of Asda’s very first petrol station were treated to prices not seen since the 1990s.
Allan Leighton, Executive Chairman at Asda, said: “Asda has always been about delivering great value to our customers, and our 60th birthday is the perfect moment to celebrate that legacy. The Golden Ticket giveaway is a fun and exciting way to say thank you to our shoppers for their loyalty over the years—and to give something back in a way that really makes a difference.”
So, next time you’re doing your weekly shop, keep your eyes peeled, as you could be one of the lucky winners driving away with a fuel card worth £1500.”
Asda will also celebrate its communities by surprising 20 different community groups with a golden ticket worth £1500 to help lift the burden of any transportation costs.

Notes to Editors:
Asda was founded in Castleford, Yorkshire in 1965. Its roots trace back to the Asquith family’s butcher shops and the Stockdale family’s dairy business, which merged to form Associated Dairies. The partnership between the Asquith brothers and Sir Noel Stockdale led to the creation of Asda—a brand that has since transformed British retail with its commitment to value, convenience, and community.
