As the nation prepares to kick off the highly anticipated home coming Manchester tour this weekend, Asda has cooked up a striking tribute: an over 2ft-wide larger-than-life lasagna in the likeness of Liam Gallagher.

Unveiled at Asda’s Pilsworth café, the colossal creation pays homage to Digsy’s Dinner, the band’s cult classic that famously namechecks lasagna, strawberries, and cream.

So popular are the lyrics in the song, that Liam Gallagher is often seen sharing just the word ‘lasanga’ on his social media channels, some with over 15million views.

Crafted with 1kg of tender lasagna sheets, layered with rich, creamy white sauce, and crowned with 900g of mature cheddar and parmesan, this culinary creation is a playful nod to an era-defining band - all that’s missing is the bucket hat.

Bringing Liam’s love of lasagna to shoppers, Asda is dishing up an exclusive Digsy’s Dinner Deal at its Pilsworth café in Manchester. Running from 11 - 13 July, customers and concert goers who purchase a hearty serving of lasagna from the instore café will receive a free portion of strawberries and cream.

And for those unable to visit the Pilsworth café, Asda is helping fans to create their own DIY Digsy’s Dinner with selected products including the Meal for One Beef Lasagna (400g) which is 3 for £8.36, meaning fans can create their own reunion with friends. The retailers ripe and sweet strawberries are on rollback from £1.95 to £1.58.

An Asda spokesperson said: " The homecoming gig is well and truly building excitement ahead of the weekend, so we wanted to create something truly memorable to mark this iconic moment.

“The giant Liam lasagna has been pulling in crowds, and fans are rolling with it to dig into our great value lasanga, strawberries and cream dinner deal.

“Whether enjoying it at our Pilsworth café or in the comfort of your own home, it’s a fun and flavoursome way to celebrate one of the bands most unexpected hits."

The gigs are at Heaton Park, Manchester, from 11 to 20 July, making ASDA Pilsworth the perfect pre-show pit stop, while stock lasts.
