Two of your five-a-day? Asda debuts its drink of the summer - Orange Wine & Peach Sangria
With peach being crowned ‘the flavour of summer’, and still wine cocktail recipes taking the nation by storm, Asda has combined the two with another fan favourite - orange wine. The supermarket has created the ultimate summer sipper - an orange wine and peach sangria, which made its debut at Asda’s Spring/Summer Wine showcase last week.
Recipes incorporating peach flavours into Sangrias and Bellinis are flooding the internet, with Brits saying “now that is something” and “it’s not a want, it’s a NEED”.
Jumping on the trend, Asda has combined a peach liqueur, Angels Peach Schnapps 70cl (£8.18) with its exclusive orange wine, Gros Manseng Vin Orange (£7.82) and a dash of Asda 3 Year Old V.S.O.P. French Brandy (£6.97) to create a recipe that those at the event described as “ridiculously quaffable” and “perfect for the summer”.
Asda’s popular and award-winning orange wine is used as a base for the Orange Wine Sangria, instead of the more classic red or white wine - to showcase the rise in popularity of more ‘alternative’ wines. The orange wine gives depth of flavour of a red, but with the refreshing qualities of a white wine, with a light golden appearance and peach, mango and blossom notes – perfect for a refreshing cocktail in the sun.
The Angels Peach Schnapps at Asda, which is used in the recipe, is a deliciously sweet option that’s up to 42% cheaper than other 70cl big-brand Peach Schnapps at alternative retailers.
