Asda is taking Christmas dinner to new heights - and reigniting one of the nation’s biggest festive debates with the return of its Christmas Tree Shaped Yorkshire Puddings. The festive twist on the Sunday staple is designed to settle the argument once and for all: that Yorkshire puds do belong on a Christmas dinner.
After last year’s sell-out success of smaller tree shaped Yorkshire puds, Asda has launched its own-label, giant Christmas Tree Yorkshire Puddings for 2025 - proving that the UK’s love affair with the pud is stronger than ever.
Searches for ‘Yorkshire Puddings’ have jumped 61% in the past 90 days, proving the UK’s appetite for the humble batter bake is only getting stronger. Meanwhile, searches for ‘Stuffed Yorkshire Puddings’ are up an incredible 433% in the past month, highlighting a growing appetite for bigger-and-bolder twists on the classic. So, ahead of the big day, Asda is making it official: Christmas 2025 is the Year of the Pud.
Landing instore and online from 27th November, the pack of two-giant Yorkshires (£1.97) offers unbeatable value, and the ultimate edible centrepiece.
“Yorkshire puddings are a firm favourite with our customers all year round, but over the festive period, they become non-negotiable – with many describing them as a ‘must-buy’.” said Meg Sugden, Product Developer at Asda. “So instead of keeping them on the sidelines, we turned them into the main event — and shaped them like actual Christmas trees. Whether you’re Team Turkey or proudly Team Trimmings — this year, make room on your plate to really tree-t yourself!”.
Part of Asda’s festive range, the launch champions bold flavours, playful presentation and family sharing moments across the season’s most-loved dishes.
And for the gravy? This year also sees the launch of Asda’s new Gravy Mayo, quickly emerging as an unexpected star of the season. Inspired by the success of last year’s Roast Potato Mayo which sparked headlines and split opinion, Gravy Mayo continues Asda’s mission to turn traditional favourites on their head. Early social comments show curiosity, with one shopper saying: “I love the idea, but will it live up to expectations?”, proving it’s set to be the condiment everyone’s talking about this Christmas.
Asda’s Christmas Tree Shaped Yorkshire Puddings will be available in-store and online from 27th of November.
