September 10, 2026 06:30am

Asda is putting a premium spin on the Christmas classics this year, unveiling more than 500 products for 2026, with showstopping seafood, award-winning cheese and an indulgent frozen Christmas dinner among the highlights.

With ‘classics, elevated’ at the heart of this year’s offering, Asda has focused on refining the festive favourites that take pride of place at Christmas, pairing familiar flavours and traditions with exceptional ingredients and plenty of festive theatre.

Seafood steals the show

Seafood is the star of Asda’s Christmas table this year, with the retailer tapping into the appetite for premium, restaurant-style food at home with an impressive new selection of festive seafood.

For those looking to push the boat out, Exceptional Lobster Tails with Thermidor Butter bring a classic indulgent combination to the table, and the Exceptional Heather Honey & Orange Smoked Salmon puts a sophisticated twist on a Christmas favourite, traditionally smoked for 30 hours over oak and whiskey chips before being finished with Scottish heather honey and orange zest.

And the festive indulgence starts before the turkey even hits the oven, with the Exceptional Smoked Salmon Topped Potato Rosti with Champagne Sauce bringing a something new to Christmas morning. Combining crisp potato rosti with rich smoked salmon and a luxurious champagne sauce, the new breakfast dish is an indulgent way to start the big day.

Bringing theatre to the Christmas table

Asda has seen growing interest from customers for bone-in cuts as they look to create a real centrepiece moment at the Christmas table. This year, Asda is embracing the trend with its Exceptional Beef Rib, made using 30-day matured British Aberdeen Angus, alongside the Exceptional Five Bone Pork Rib Rack, made with Yorkshire-bred pork and prepared for the ultimate crispy crackling.

For those after a comforting Christmas classic with a premium twist, the Exceptional Steak & Ale Pie with Bone Marrow Jus is handmade with all-butter puff pastry and eight-hour slow-cooked British beef, caramelised onions, mushrooms and Joules pale ale, finished with a rich bone marrow jus.

A premium Christmas dinner - straight from the freezer

Frozen food is also getting a festive upgrade, with Asda offering shoppers an entire premium Christmas roast that can be prepared from frozen, designed to make Christmas cooking easier while spreading the cost of the big day. The range combines premium ingredients with freezer convenience, as several sides can be cooked straight from frozen, including in the air fryer.

The Exceptional Free Range Turkey, filled with buttered shallot, pancetta and sage stuffing and wrapped in bacon, takes centre stage, alongside a selection of indulgent sides including four-cheese Potato Dauphinoise Gratins, Spiced Red Cabbage, Maple Butter Chantenay Carrots, Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Honey Roast Parsnips.

Mince pies go boozy and panettone takes on Christmas pudding

Mince pies are getting a particularly indulgent revamp this Christmas with the nation’s favourite festive bite getting a premium makeover, as Asda launches an Exceptional Mince Pie with Irish Cream, appealing to those who like their Christmas treats with a little extra decadence.

And for those looking to break with Christmas pudding tradition, Asda is putting panettone firmly on the festive dessert table with its Exceptional Chocolate & Caramel Panettone. Made using a mother dough that has been nurtured for more than 50 years, it is packed with milk and dark chocolate chips and rich caramel for a soft, indulgent centrepiece.

For the ultimate finish, the Exceptional Mirror Glaze Cheesecake is a feast for the eyes as well as the sweet tooth, combining rich chocolate cheesecake with salted caramel and a glossy chocolate glaze, while the Yum Yum Tower gives families everything they need to build their own spectacular festive dessert.

Forget the formal canapés, Christmas is all about grazing

Asda is tapping into the growing appetite for relaxed festive entertaining, with abundant sharing platters, artisanal charcuterie and Mediterranean-inspired olives designed to keep guests grazing throughout the celebrations.

Leading the charge is the Exceptional Charcuterie Platter, bringing together a premium selection of Italian and Spanish-inspired meats including Lomo, Milano salami, Catalonian Serrano ham, and Iberico Chorizo While olives take pride of place at the grazing table, with Asda’s new Exceptional Queen Nocellara Olives.

Asda is putting a gourmet spin on festive party favourites, with plenty of crowd-pleasing classics made for sharing. No Christmas is complete without pigs in blankets, and this year the much-loved staple gets an indulgent upgrade with Exceptional Wagyu Pigs in Blankets. Vol-au-vents also get a contemporary twist with Exceptional Marry Me Chicken Vol-au-Vents, filled with tender chicken in a rich, creamy tomato sauce.

Linsey Taylor, Director of Own Brand at Asda, said: “This Christmas, we're celebrating the classics, elevated. We know that when it comes to the festive season, customers want the dishes and flavours they truly look forward to, but they also want to make the occasion feel special.

“That’s exactly what we’ve focused on with this year’s range, taking the Christmas classics customers know and love and elevating them through exceptional ingredients, expert craftsmanship and attention to detail."
