Asda brings big Boom energy in new festive ads
Today Asda is launching its 2026 Christmas campaign, showing customers they don't need to cut back on spreading joy this Christmas, but they can cut back on the cost.
Built around the message, “All of Christmas at Asda Price. BOOM!”, the campaign captures the excitement, anticipation and joy that comes with the festive season.
Full of larger-than-life festive moments, viewers will see a dancing gingerbread man, a mum taking a ride on a giant pyro-cracker and a grandad transported into an unexpected Christmas rave, bringing humour and high-energy fun to every scene. From decking the halls and welcoming family and friends, to gift-giving and gathering around the Christmas dinner table, the campaign shows how Asda and George’s unmatchable mix helps customers create magical moments throughout the season. All while finding everything they need at the value they expect.
Set to a remixed version of Martin Garrix's, Animals, a high-energy dance anthem that breaks away from traditional festive soundtracks, each advert transitions from classic Christmas card moments, into bigger, louder, joy-filled celebrations that showcase the feeling you get when there's more Christmas for everyone.
Created by Lucky Generals and directed by Finn Keenan, the campaign launches today across TV, social and digital channels. It’s made up of four separate 30 second films and an additional bonus edit - which takes customers through the entire festive season – from decorating their home and buying the perfect presents, to doing their online shop and prepping for the big day. Across all four films, Asda brings to life its unbeatable combination of quality, range and value.
The first two films focusing on the Big Day and Decorating, which are live on social now, will air tonight on ITV 1 during Emmerdale and during The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4.
Tom Hampson, Group Marketing Director at Asda, said: "The reality is that our customers don't want less Christmas, they just want Christmas for less. They still want the great food, thoughtful gifts, festive treats, decorations and all the traditions that make the season feel special, but without the worry that they’re spending more than they have.
"That's the premise of this year's campaign. We're showing customers that they don't have to choose between a great Christmas and great value. With everything they need under one roof, we're helping families bring the joy they want this Christmas, at the prices they need.”
The Big Day ad follows a mum preparing a delicious Christmas dinner for the big day, laying a beautifully dressed table with everything from Exceptional Honey & Orange Scottish Smoked Salmon priced at £4.75 and part of the 3 for £12 offer. Alongside it features a range of Asda’s 26 award-winning cheeses and Louvel Fontaine Champagne. Just as the Christmas feast appears complete, the mum suspiciously nods to camera as the iconic beat drops and the festivities take a turn. The mum flashes on screen riding a giant cracker through a whirlwind of family fun, transforming the occasion into an energetic festive bonanza.
The decorating advert sees a family transforming their home for Christmas with everything from a 7ft Pre Lit Tree priced at £50, to George Matching Christmas Jumpers from only £10. As the home comes to life, so does the celebration, with Santa making a spectacular entrance, backflips on the living room floor and a parent dressed as a giant bauble bringing humour and festive mischief to the scene.
In the hosting film, viewers are welcomed into a beautifully curated Christmas gathering complete with incredible frozen party food which customers can get their hands on for 7 for £10, Exceptional Prosecco for £7.75 and festive George tableware. What begins as an elegant festive get-together soon erupts into the ultimate Christmas party, with guests swept up in the infectious energy of the season as Animals provides the soundtrack to the Boom beat drop. All complete with a dancing mince pie and Gingerbread man twirling around the kitchen.
A bonus digital-only edit of the hosting film reveals how the party comes together, with an Asda Grocery Home Shopping delivery arriving just in time for the celebrations. As the hosts prepare a beautifully laid festive table filled with Asda Christmas essentials, everything appears calm and perfectly curated until the Boom beat drops and the party explodes into life. Running across paid social and YouTube, the edit showcases the role Asda’s Grocery Home Shopping can play in helping customers host with ease this Christmas.
The final advert focuses on gifting, showcasing everything from wooden afternoon tea sets and matching family pj’s priced from just £6, to coffee machines and gift sets. As presents are opened and shared, the celebration builds to a memorable finale, with a grandad unexpectedly transported from the living room into a full-blown festive rave, capturing the fun, humour and joy at the heart of the campaign.
And Asda isn't just talking about helping customers this Christmas. The supermarket is giving seven families Christmas on them, with a social competition running on Facebook and Instagram (META) offering one lucky customer each weekend a £500 Asda voucher in the run-up to the big day, from Friday 6th November to 18th December.
The initiative is designed to spread festive cheer and give something back to customers, helping make Christmas a little easier and even more memorable for families across the country.
