  • Ice cream and cones from just 14p at home with Asda as families scoop up big savings this Bank Holiday

  • Ice cream rush incoming as searches soar up to 900% on Asda.com

  • “Best job in the world!” says Asda’s Product Developer as new summer ice creams land

After a chilly start to May, rising temperatures are set to spark a surge in ice cream sales as shoppers gear up for the Bank Holiday and half term.

With searches for ice cream up by more than 900% on Asda.com, the retailer is expecting demand to soar as Brits stock up on frozen treats to make the most of the sunshine.

As the cost of a day out continues to climb, more customers are turning to supermarket treats for better value. Enter, the ASDA Soft Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream (2L, £1.62) which delivers over 23 scoops per tub, working out at just 7p per scoop. Pair it with ASDA Ice Cream Cones (21 pack, £1.34) at 6.4p each, and customers can whip up a classic cone for under 14p – a fraction of the price of high street options, where a single scoop can cost several pounds.

With Brits estimated to spend nearly £9,000 on ice cream over a lifetime, Asda is helping families keep cool without the hefty price tag, making it easier to enjoy frozen favourites at home this summer.

New to the range

New to the range are the Loaded Ice Cream Tubs (£2.75, 425ml), available in four flavours – Cookie Dough, Caramelised Biscuit, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Mango & Passion Fruit – all packed with rich swirls, chunky pieces and bold flavours, and all coming in at 55p per scoop.

For a lighter option, the new ASDA Raspberry Sorbet (£2.64, 500ml) offers a refreshing hit, while the Exceptional by Asda range continues to expand with two new luxury flavours: Strawberry & Cornish Clotted Cream and Sicilian Lemon Meringue (£3.29, 500ml).

Kay Davies, Asda Ice Cream Product Developer, said: “I genuinely think I’ve got the best job in the world – coming up with new ice cream flavours. From loaded tubs packed with chunks to fresh, fruity combinations, it’s all about creating something that people are excited to dig into. There’s nothing better than knowing something you’ve helped create is part of someone’s sunny day treat or family celebration”.

Stock up on top brands

Families can also stock up on freezer staples with Asda’s Mix & Match “Any 2 for £4” lolly deal, including favourites such as Calippo Mini Strawberry, Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles Berries, and Swizzels Love Hearts Creamy Cherry lollies.

And to top it off, Which? has once again named Asda the UK’s cheapest supermarket for branded groceries in April, securing its third win in a row this year. Beating Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons – even with their loyalty card discounts. Asda proves you don’t need a loyalty card to get the best value on your weekly shop.

Customers can explore Asda’s full ice cream and frozen dessert range in stores and online now, featuring exciting new products, top brands, and great value – no loyalty card needed.
