Asda is the first retailer in Northern Ireland to be affiliated with a new scheme which will promote health and safety in farming.
The Farm Safety Affiliate Scheme, which is being coordinated by the Farm Safety Partnership, was launched by Economy Minister Simon Hamilton and Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Minister Michelle McIlveen. By joining the initiative, Asda has committed to utilising its extensive store network across Northern Ireland as a platform for the promotion of safe working practices on the farm.
Joe McDonald, Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs Asda NI said, “We are delighted to be part of this important new initiative. Many of our stores are located within rural areas, so Asda is perfectly placed to help deliver the farm safety message in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our customers from the agricultural community.”
“As the scheme’s first retail affiliate, Asda is also making a unique commitment by supporting its supply chain partners to keep health and safety at the forefront of the minds of farmers.”
