We've expanded our vegan 'cheese' range with three new choices

May 11, 2018 10:37 AM

We've added three new choices to our vegan-friendly Free From Cheese Alternative range – and customers have been quick to notice on social media.

We launched our first Free From cheese – a Mature Cheddar alternative – at the start of the year. It's been hugely popular in stores and on social media, so we've decided to increase the range and are now launching a Grated Mozzarella Alternative, Grated Cheddar Alternative and Soft Cheese Alternative, so no one has to miss out on the cheeses they love this summer.

They're £2 each and available in selected stores, and the mozzarella, soft cheese and mature cheddar are also available online. The mozzarella is free from dairy, gluten, soya and wheat, while the soft cheese is free from dairy, gluten and wheat.

Customers have already spotted the new additions and are taking to social media to say how much they like them. Lucy shared this picture on Instagram of a meal she created using the grated mozzarella alternative and said: "All the dairy free cheeses are really good, the soft cheese alternative is my favourite 👍".

Rebecca posted about our mozzarella alternative and said: "The cheese is amazing, it tastes so good and it melts really well so I’m converted 🙌🏻"

Naomi shared this picture on Instagram when she picked up the soft cheese alternative in store. She said: "It's amazing – perfect on a bagel for a quick breakfast!"

Here are some of the other posts we've spotted about the range:

Our product development manager James Waters says the range of cheese alternatives will continue to expand this year.

He said: "We want to broaden our range of free from cheeses in order to offer our customers a better choice, whether it be for lifestyle preference or due to food allergies or intolerances. The grated mozzarella, grated cheddar and soft cheese alternatives are top sellers in our standard cheese range, so that's why they're the latest additions."

"I always keep track of our customer online reviews and so far they have been positive. We know how big the free from and vegan markets have become and understand that there is a demand for more free from and vegan products, so it’s great to see what it means to customers when we're able to help more of them enjoy something they love.

"We take on all of the feedback and will try to keep improving our range. We have some new flavours launching in August which we’re really excited about so we should have a lovely range on our shelves to give customers the option of a free from cheese board in plenty of time for Christmas!"

It's not just customers who are impressed by our cheese alternatives – our Free From Mature Cheddar Alternative won the Gold award in the Milk Alternatives catergory at the Free From Awards 2018.

James said: "The award means a lot and it's a great testament to the quality of our cheese. Judges commented on it being really great when melted, a great free from ingredient, and useful for when kids are around. They said that when melted in or on a dish no child would even notice that it was different, which is fantastic to hear."
